week 53: Reassignment from Costa Rica to Washington DC South mission thanks to Covid19

have a year in my mission! That was an exciting milestone that I got to celebrate at home with my family. Last Monday I headed out to Washington DC to finish off this last year, and I had lots of worries: will I have to speak English? Will I get a good companion? Will I have to get Facebook?? Fortunately I am speaking Spanish, and I don't have to get Facebook, so everything will be alright. This first week I have been learning so much about using technology in the mission that I feel like a dinosaur. The work is completely different here, especially since we can't go outside. We make calls instead, and videocalls when possible. It's a lot of sitting down in a day, and I'm not at all the type of person that can sit down for more than even an hour. It's been a challenge and the hardest part of being here was the unexpected homesickness that I experienced. I know it has to do with having a sudden separation from my family after building strong bonds after a happy reunion from when I came home, but I did not see it coming at all. I also know that with time and praying it will get better and I will be able to be a happy as before. This week I have learned SO many names and bright faces through technology, and have gained a testimony of the divinity of the conception of technology and its role in the gathering of Israel. We are more efficient and reliable missionaries and we are able to do so much more. I apologize for a short email, it's because I decided to spent most of my time with my family this week. Thanks for reading this and supporting me while I serve the Lord. I love you all!
